In November 2011, Jubilo began a series of pilot workshop sessions in collaboration with Stowarzyszenie Świat Nadziei (The World of Hope Association) and a group of adults with various mental and developmental disabilities. The workshops were conducted 1-2 times weekly from November 2011 – May 2012 in the ArtBrut Gallery in Wrocław. The specific aim of the project was to work in coordination with the therapists in care of the adults and to develop a long-term process of creative exploration of the body and voice. The creative practices that the artistic leaders drew upon included a modified version of Ashtanga yoga, movement and dance, partner exercises, music, rhythms, and sounding/harmonizing. Throughout the project, special emphasis was placed on the exploration of the ensemble, specifically how the group can unite to support one another and provide a safe platform for each individual to express their own artistic voice.

The members of Świat Nadziei stepped onto this platform and gradually discovered their voices, from proposing their own yoga exercises to writing poetry to dancing to playing musical instruments. In addition to the performance workshops, Jubilo held a series of photography workshops, where the members of Świat Nadziei explored the camera as a tool of creative expression.  The work culminated in a final presentation to the Wrocław public in May 2012 entitled ‘Searching for the Language of Joy.’ The presentation was held in the theatre space of Teatr Pieśń Kozła (Song of the Goat Theatre) along with screenings of documentary films, a photography exhibition, and sketches of the rehearsal process by local artists from The Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław.
