The Breath Song

Theatre workshop lead by Jubilo actors

workshop 02-2015

This workshop is focused on exploring the connection between body and voice, using the body as a passage towards vocal and musical expression. Working with tools of both vocal and physical listening, tuning, impulse and rhythm we will open a process of personal exploration for each of the participants.

What is the body of a sound? What is the physicality of a song? Does an action have a sound/word hidden within? What is the relation that we can build between action, music and text?

Challenging both individual, partnership and group dynamics we will try to overcome our physical and vocal limits, building a bridge between exercises and creative materials.

The foundations of the work come from the physical and vocal training and musical research of Jubilo Project, developed and mixed with materials coming from traditions and cultural explorations, gathered during research expeditions by the leaders of the seminar (to Italy, Spain, Poland, Russia, Romania and Sardinia).
