The Breath Song
Exploration of body and voice
Led by Diego Pileggi, Agnieszka Bresler, Joshua Doerksen and Piotr Kurjata, actors of Jubilo Project.
In this workshop we will work on the primary connection between body and voice, using the body as a passage, as a door towards the vocal and musical expression. Starting from a common starting point which involves listening, tuning, harmonies and using instruments such as rhythm, impulse, sound, movement, we will open our emotional and inner landscapes opening a process of personal exploration. Through partnership exercises and physical training we will get in contact with our primal instinct, awake our inner life overcoming physical and mental limits.
Working on the physical centre of the actor and his breath we will explore the possibility of creating a bridge between exercises and creative materials, transforming them into theatrical actions.
The foundations of the work come from the physical and vocal training and musical research of Jubilo Project, developed and mixed with materials coming from traditions and cultural explorations, gathered during research expeditions by the leaders of the seminar (to Italy, Spain, Poland, Russia, Romania and Sardinia).
